Patrick Hutton, I am from Rock Island, Illinois.  I am 32 years old and started boxing when I was a kid.  I played many sports as a child: Soccer, baseball, basketball, boxing and football. I played football and baseball all four years in high school.  However the two that stuck out to me the most was boxing and football.  As a kid I boxed amateur and won four gold gloves championships.  In the fall of 1993 I went Western Illinois University to play college football.  I played receiver for the Leathernecks for 5 seasons from 1993 to 1997.

My senior year we were ranked # 1 in nation for most part of the season and won a conference championship and was upset in the Semi finals ending my college career.  After college I went back home and started playing Rugby for the team back home because I needed something to replace that competivitiveness in me.  In the Spring of 1999 I moved to Dallas, Texas were I played in the states 6 man semi pro football league for the Dallas Bearcats.  That season I led the league in Touchdowns and was elected player of the week in week 4 for scoring 5 touchdowns in one game and was elected to be the starting receiver and kick returner for the west all star team.  I played one more season for the Dallas Knights and ended my football career for good.  I then turned back to the other sport I had loved so much as a kid boxing.

I started training again and got myself set up to compete in the FX TUFF MAN competion in Dallas Texas.  In 2000 I fought in the light heavyweight division 175 lbs. to 185 lbs.  I weighed in at 175 lbs. I was the runner up in the FX TUFF MAN competion in Dallas, Texas.  In the fall of  2001 I moved to Houston Texas.  I competed in the last ever FX TUFF MAN to come to Houston in 2002 in the middleweight division 165 lbs. – 175lbs. I fought at 171 lbs.  I won the Middle weight Championship by going 3 and 0 in tournament. I was trained by fellow RSKA teammate Matt Warner for my TUFF MAN in Houston.  After the TUFF MAN I stared training at the George Foreman Youth Center and was invited to try out for the very first season on the TV Reality show on NBC “The Contender”  I did really well in my tryouts for the show, however I didn’t make it to the final tryout Los Angeles because they chose the weltweight division for the shows first season.

I last fougt in September of 2004, but I have continued my boxing training and I have been certified and helped Buster Douglas in his boxing Certification course that he did at Rising Sun and I am sparring partners with Kyoshi Jason David Frank and Matt Warner. I love the sport of boxing and it’s a huge part of my life and will continue to be for a long time.  I have been blessed in being able to meet and be around some of the sports biggest names and former champions:  George Foreman, Buster Douglas, Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Michael Nunn, Reggie Johnson, Sugar Ray Leonard, boxing promoter Bob Arum, Juan Diaz, Charlie Shipes.  Boxing is great for a persons selfesteem and requires great discipline and is a true sweet science.
